When Does a Boy Become a Man?

The 20th and 21st centuries have proved very difficult especially for men. Some psychologists and other experts talk about the crisis of masculinity. After women had been emancipated men weren't any more what they used to be. Women managed to have careers and children without reliance on men. Men lost themselves a little and since then they have been seeking their identity and role in society. What does being a man mean? What extra do men have in comparison with women? One of the significant differences is a beard. When it grows adulthood is knocking on the door. And first shaving is an important ritual in the life of every young man.

Can You Remember Your First Beard Shaving?

Rituals are very important. Especially those which are called initiation rituals. To shave a beard is not as dangerous and demanding as to kill a lion in an African bush (one can bleed in both the cases). But it has its significance in man's life, it ends one stage and starts the next one. For a boy first shaving is one of the turning points, it is an accession to real men. The question “Have you already shaved your beard?” has the same meaning as “How old are you?”. Briefly said - a beard is a symbol of masculinity and it absolutely doesn't matter whether it is carefully grown or shaved daily. There are many ways to proudly “wear” it: a moustache, a stubble, coarse shaved beard or grown well-kept beard. The matter is - Look! I have a beard, I shave. It is something belonging only to the world of men, they can express themselves by it and they usually do so. That's why “beard style” follows fashion rules and is an important part of appearance.

Mayday! I Have Got Nothing to Shave!

Men need their facial hair - even if they remove them thoroughly every day. But what to do when:

- facial hair almost doesn't grow

- hair is too thin or cut down to several ugly hairs or thin goatee

- one have scars in the beard area where used to be hair

Few chances to camouflage or hide this imperfection. Until recently,  the only solution was to come to terms with destiny. But nowadays there is some new technique. It is called micropigmentation and is used especially to treat scalp baldness. It is based on tattooing little dots simulating freshly shaved head. In the same way it can camouflage bald patches on a face and create an appearance of thick beard or stubble. Beard micropigmentation is easily available and because beard baldness is rare and small spots usually need to be thickened, it is quickly made and quite cheap. Applies for all, has no side effects and requires no special examination. Natural look is no problem, the tattooing ink matches skin tone and original facial hair colour.

A Trifle That Helps a Lot

It is only a minute intervention but is very perceptible. People look at your beard when you are being introduced or talking to them, it can hide in photos. Face is the most exposed part of the head while the scalp is visible from a bird's-eye view best. Every guy suffering from hair loss or thinness who is hesitating about micropigmentation should try it on  with facial hair. Feeling like a real man is the first step to behave like a real man - and to become a gentle-man. Besides, thick beards are very fashionable nowadays.

Which facial hair style do you like at most? Do you know any guy who doesn't want to have a beard? Do you mind daily shaving? What was the longest beard you have ever had?
